What is the Most Expensive House?

By InfoArsenal

The first billion dollar house and the most expensive house in the world is the “Antilla”. It is named after a mythical island. It is situated in Alta Mount Road, Mumbai, India. It is not like any building of its size because of the materials used to build it, and it's entirely customized design. In Mumbai, where square footage is at a premium, it is most economical to build upwards; though it's unlikely that economical decision played a large role in the making of this 560 ft tall giant.  It rubs shoulders with some of the tallest buildings in Mumbai, and has the making of a 5 star hotel, yet it's intended to be the home for just one family and their workers.

It is said that the shape of the house is based on Vaastu Shatra, Indian’s version of Feng Sui. It’s a science of structures; vibrations and energy that can help a person create a revolutionary change in life.

Antilla's Architecture

This 27 story mansion has 600 servants intended for the building’s maintenance and has allocated the first 6 floors as the parking lot. It can accommodate approximately 170 cars. On top of the parking lot is where the living quarters start with nine elevators, storage rooms and lounges. It also has a dual stairway with railings that are covered with silver leading to huge ballroom. The ballroom’s ceiling is 80% covered with crystal chandeliers. The hall unfolds an indoor/outdoor bar, green rooms and powder rooms that allow getting at a nearby entourage room for people to relax in. The house is distinctly Indian; 85% of the material and labor are mostly from India. Architects and designers even said that the house is a model for future buildings. With all these unbelievable characteristics, there’s no other home that you can compare to the 570 feet tall mansion.

Who Owns The Most Expensive House in The World?

Who owns the most expensive house in the world? Great question! Antilla’s owner is the fifth richest man in the world and India’s richest, Mukesh Ambani. He is the owner of the Reliance Industries Limited, India’s largest private sector company. This company was founded by his father Dhirubhai H. Ambani. From the company’s profile, the group’s activities span exploration and production of oil and gas, petroleum refining and marketing, petrochemicals, textiles, retail and special economic zones. The company is the largest producer of polyester fiber and yarn; the company has the largest refining capacity at any single location. This is obviously where Mukesh Ambani is getting all his riches.

Most Expensive House in the United States

Enough about the world’s most expensive house, let’s jump to the United States. William Randolph Hearst’s California Estate was supposed to be the most expensive house in the United States but the title has been taken by the largest home in Los Angeles County; none other than “The Manor”. This house is said to have 123 rooms and more than 4.6 acres of land. It is bigger than a football field but smaller than Hearst Castle. It has 3 gift wrapping rooms, a screening room, gymnasium, bowling alley, a tennis court, a huge swimming pool and a parking lot that can accommodate up to a 100 cars. It even has a floor for closets alone. This mansion is located at 594 Mapleton Drive in Bel Air, California. It was used to be where the house of Harry Lillis “Bing” Crosby (a popular American actor and singer) stood before Spelling bought in 1983 and decided to demolish it.

This mansion was the property of Aaron Spelling, a television producer. He is the producer of highly acclaimed TV series such as Charmed, Beverly Hills 90210, The Love boat and Charlie’s Angels to name a few. He holds the Guinness World Record for most intellectually productive television producer. He is also the owner of World Vision, Hamilton Projects, Republic Pictures and a software company called Virgin Interactive. Spelling died in 2006 due to complications following a stroke. The mansion has been listed on the market at a price of $150 million dollars.

Most Expensive Beach House

On the other hand the most expensive beach house is probably Donald Trump’s Palm Beach Mansion. It’s located in 515 North County Road, Florida. It’s a 60,000 square foot property that is sitting on a beachfront. The mansion is also called as the Mansion de L’Amitie. It has 22 bathrooms and a 48- car garage.

The luxurious mansion was owned by Donald Trump. Trump is a popular billionaire in the real estate business. He inherited his real estate skills from his father, Fred Trump. He owns several remarkable establishments in New York City. He owns hotels, casinos and many more. He also engaged himself in the entertainment world, starring in the program The Apprentice where he made the line “You’re Fired” his distinct symbol.

There are many luxurious houses around the world, but these are some of the most expensive.  There's no reason to get jealous of the owners, and their expensive houses, and driving around in the world's most expensive car.  These houses might be expensive, but they are certainly not the “best” houses by many accounts; architecturally interesting, environmentally friendly, etc, but they are, without a doubt, some of the costliest homes found.

just read about this house in other source, and looks what's here :) Interesting house, cost also makes an interest, but i think that Antilia is wrong. Because to spend more than a billion dollars on a private house in a city where 1/3 of it's population is living in poverty is just too much.

It does seem to be a rather cold move.

Extremely interesting, I also do can see from your stand-point. But better yet we shouldn't pose guilt to Mukesh let him enjoy his wealth. Thing is if one would really sit with him you would realise he's not a bad person at all infact if he can share about his philenthropic side you would be astound by how much he gives away...so maybe let's get to terms with that he is also playing his role in many ways than one, and give him the benefit of being wealthy...yea!
